Julia Simon-Kerr is the Evangeline Starr Professor of Law at the UConn School of Law, where she teaches Evidence, Civil Procedure, and Law & Lying. Her research focuses on credibility, gender dynamics in evidence law, and constitutional aspects of demeanor evidence. She co-edits Critical Evidence and advises the Connecticut Code of Evidence Committee.

Research Interests: Dr. Simon-Kerr critiques outdated credibility doctrines, explores gender biases in witness impeachment, and examines antisubordination principles in evidence law. Her work bridges legal theory with practical reform, influencing courts and policy discussions. Recent projects include constitutional dimensions of demeanor evidence and reforming prior conviction impeachment practices.
