Prof. Dr. Julia Sacher is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroendocrinology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and the Medical Faculty of Leipzig University. She leads the Cognitive Neuroendocrinology Group, focusing on hormonal influences on brain structure and function across lifespan transitions like the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause. Her work integrates neuroimaging, clinical research, and AI to address sex/gender disparities in mental and brain health.
Education: MD and PhD from Medical University of Vienna, postdoctoral training at the University of Toronto, and NIH-funded fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh and Stanford. Awards include the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship and Branco Weiss Fellowship.
