Julia Nießner is a Scientific Associate and holder of an ABD Research Professorship in Educational Technology for Digital Transformation at FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany. Previously, she was a research assistant at the University of Siegen's Chair of Cyber-Physical Systems under Prof. Dr. Thomas Ludwig from 2021 to 2023. Her work focuses on AI-driven projects, including regional AI initiatives and the ExPro research project.
She holds a B.Sc. in Business Informatics from Fontys University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and an M.Sc. in Business Informatics from the University of Siegen. Her academic contributions include a bachelor’s thesis on digital twins for wind turbine power prediction and a master’s thesis on recipe recommendation systems.
Her research interests span educational technology, AI applications, and cyber-physical systems, with practical experience in industry collaborations. She is actively involved in advancing digital transformation through interdisciplinary projects.
