Julia Navarro Oliver

Dr. Julia Navarro Oliver is a Tenured Contract Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), serving as coordinator for Mathematics and Computer Science programs with active involvement in both teaching and research activities.

Education:

• BSc in Mathematics (2014) from the University of the Balearic Islands
• MSc in Computer Vision (2015) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona
• PhD (2019) from the University of the Balearic Islands

Her research focuses on computer vision and digital image processing, combining mathematical analysis with practical applications in image processing. She has developed expertise in sub-pixel imaging techniques and deep learning applications for computer vision problems with practical applications in various fields requiring advanced image analysis.

She is an active member of the Tractament i Anàlisi Matemàtica d'Imatges (TAMI) research group and the Mathematics, Imaging and Learning (MIA) Consolidated R+D+I Group at UIB, with research collaborations including the French spatial agency CNES.

Research Activities:

Dr. Navarro Oliver teaches a variety of mathematics courses across multiple degree programs, with emphasis on Mathematical Analysis II and specialized courses in computer vision for the Master's Degree in Advanced Physics and Applied Mathematics.
