She teaches undergraduate courses including Pauline Letters, Global Jesus, New Testament, and Liberation Theology, and previously served as Chair of the Religion Department from 2009-2016. Dr. Fogg also teaches in the Lutheran Theological Education for Emerging Ministries (TEEM) program at CLU's seminary, PLTS in Berkeley.
Dr. Fogg earned her Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Emory University and her Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School. She was named Professor of the Year by the CLU class of 2008, reflecting her excellence in teaching and student engagement.
Her research focuses on biblical interpretations from the margins, particularly examining border crossing narratives in the gospels and their connection to contemporary immigrant experiences. Dr. Fogg's work bridges Pauline theology with community building strategies, exploring how early Christian communities navigated diversity and division. She develops innovative, immersive pedagogical methods that emphasize culturally responsive approaches and attention to neurodiversity in student learning practices.
Dr. Fogg's publications demonstrate a consistent trajectory from biblical scholarship to practical application in contemporary social issues, particularly immigration justice. Her recent work increasingly incorporates neurocognitive approaches to biblical texts, revealing how early Christian emotional strategies can inform modern community building.
