Julia Lajta-Novak is an Associate Professor for Anglophone Literature and Mediality at the University of Vienna's Department of English and American Studies. Her academic work spans research, teaching, and literary curation, with a strong focus on contemporary poetry performance and biographical fiction.
Her research centers on British poetry performance through the Poetry Off the Page initiative—which examines spoken word poetry in modern contexts—and contemporary biographical novels about historical women, a field she terms 'biografication'.
