Julia Kowal is a Professor at the Technical University of Berlin, leading the Fachgebiet (Field) of Electrical Energy Storage Technology within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She has been affiliated with TU Berlin since March 2014, following prior roles at RWTH Aachen’s Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) and research stays at RISØ National Laboratory (Denmark) and Exide Technologies (Spain). Her work focuses on electrochemical energy storage systems, impedance analysis, and battery technologies for automotive applications.

She received funding from the Prof. Dr. Koepchen Foundation (RWE). Her team operates at the Institute of Energy and Automation Technology, conducting advanced research on battery systems.
