Julia Keen is a Professor and the Bob and Betty Tointon Engineering Chair at Kansas State University’s Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science. She holds a B.S. (1998), M.S. (2005), and Ph.D. (2010) in Architectural Engineering and Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University. Her expertise spans HVAC design, energy efficiency, and advancing women in engineering and construction.

Research & Interests: Dr. Keen focuses on high-performance building systems, HVAC education, and industry workforce development. She actively involves undergraduate and graduate students in her research projects and has co-developed the ASHRAE HVAC Essentials Course.

Serves in leadership roles in ASHRAE, including the Society Board of Directors and co-authoring the book High-Performance Buildings Simplified.
