Julia Gottschalk

Prof. Dr. Julia Gottschalk is an Associate Professor of Marine Geology at the Institute of Geosciences, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. She leads the Paleoceanography and Marine Geology working group, focusing on understanding past ocean-climate interactions using benthic foraminifera and geochemical proxies. Her research integrates sediment core analyses, radiocarbon dating, and numerical modeling to unravel mechanisms driving ocean circulation and carbon cycle changes.
