Jules Jackson is an Assistant Professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, serving as the Assistant Deputy Head of Jazz. He holds additional teaching roles at Eton College (bass guitar & Music Technology), Christ’s Hospital School (visiting teacher of jazz), and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland (bass tutor and ensemble coach). As a multifaceted musician, he performs on upright/electric bass, drums, and keyboards, and has collaborated with renowned artists like Jamie Cullum, Jacqui Dankworth, and Peter Erskine.

Jackson's research and creative practice spans jazz performance, fusion music, and sound engineering. His 2011 debut album Groove Therapy reflects his expertise in composition and production, alongside contributions to albums by Mike Hext, Simon Golding, and others. He also works as a sound engineer, mixing recordings for British jazz artists including Gareth Lockrane and Stan Sulzmann.
Jackson's career highlights include performing with luminaries such as Liane Carroll, Stan Sulzmann, and Mark Nightingale, as well as engineering a live recording of Stan Sulzmann’s Neon Orchestra in 2016. His teaching integrates jazz pedagogy, music technology, and ensemble coaching, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to music performance and education.
