Jules Bernard-Espina is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Universite Paris-Saclay, with research spanning clinical and sports neuroscience applications.
His research focuses on how the central nervous system integrates sensory inputs (visual, proprioceptive, vestibular) for movement control. Using statistical models of multisensory integration and virtual reality experiments, he investigates:
- Brain functioning in stroke patients with sensory deficits
- Neural adaptations in freedivers exposed to aquatic sensory environments
- Postural alterations following total hip replacement surgery (via posturographic and electromyographic analysis)
His work bridges theoretical neuroscience with practical clinical and athletic applications, particularly in pathological rehabilitation contexts and extreme sports physiology.
