Juha Laakkonen is a Senior University Lecturer at the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Biosciences. He is a founding member of the Teachers' Academy and serves as supervisor for both the Clinical Veterinary Medicine and Integrative Life Science doctoral programs.
- Research Interests: Veterinary anatomy, evolutionary biology, mammalian morphology, parasitology, and educational methodologies in veterinary sciences.
- Recent Publications: Focus on comparative anatomy of Arctic seals, evolutionary adaptations in felids, and pedagogical innovations in anatomy education.
- Supervision: Actively supervises licentiate and doctoral theses, including students Heini Nihtilä, Anna Kalmari, and Ida Virta.
