- Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison
Dr. Wang's research spans both theoretical and applied mathematics with a strong focus on medical applications. Their work bridges mathematical theory with practical healthcare solutions, particularly in the realm of medical imaging and diagnostics. The research portfolio demonstrates a clear progression from fundamental fluid dynamics studies to increasingly sophisticated medical imaging applications.
Dr. Wang's work has evolved from foundational studies in fluid dynamics and turbulence to specialized medical imaging applications. Their research group develops mathematical models that extract clinically meaningful information from complex medical data, with particular emphasis on ultrasound technologies, cancer detection algorithms, and image processing techniques for improved diagnostic accuracy.
As Department Chair, Dr. Wang oversees the Mathematics Department's academic programs, faculty development, and strategic direction at Union College. They maintain an active research program while providing leadership for the department's undergraduate education initiatives in mathematics, statistics, and financial and actuarial mathematics.
