Judy R Wilson

Dr. Judy R Wilson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), part of the College of Education, Health and Human Development. She holds a PhD in Applied Physiology from Kent State University (1984), an MS in Exercise Physiology from California Polytechnic State University (1978), and a BS in Physical Education from Pacific Union College (1972). Her academic career includes over 30 years at UTA, progressing from Lecturer (1997–2000) to Assistant Professor (2000–2006) and her current rank. Wilson specializes in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), exercise physiology, and sports medicine, with a focus on applications in chronic diseases, wound healing, and athletic performance.

Her research spans hyperbaric medicine's effects on conditions like autoimmune encephalomyelitis, atherosclerosis, and traumatic injuries. Notable grants include a $100,000 UT System-funded project (2024–2025) exploring HBOT for skeletal muscle regeneration post-trauma. She has advised over 15 graduate students on topics ranging from wheelchair basketball physiology to exergame adherence.
