Judy Magee serves as Core Faculty and Adjunct Professor in the School of Human Development at Pacific Oaks College. She has been teaching at Pacific Oaks since 1993 and was an integral member of the team that developed the original Pacific Oaks model of online education from 1996-2010. Her current roles include Faculty Advisor for all BA and MA students in Human Development Online programs and chair of the Assessment Committee.
Her research interests focus on online education methodologies, including interactive learning, reflective practice, and addressing psychological barriers of the digital divide. She has a long-term scholarship interest in holistic curriculum development for adult learners and liberatory teaching approaches. Her expertise spans transformative pedagogy, anti-bias/anti-racism education with children and adults, civil rights movement youth education, and interpersonal neurobiology.
Dr. Magee is currently completing Post-Graduate Certification in Interpersonal Neurobiology with a specialty in Educational Neuroscience. Her educational background includes an M.A. in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis.
Before joining Pacific Oaks, she worked in Primary and Early Childhood Education, program administration, prenatal and parent education, and family support. She emphasizes connecting with students as the most rewarding aspect of her work, helping them find their voices in the classroom and navigate complex concepts.
