Theresa Rochambeau is a Senior Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Human Development at Pacific Oaks College, where she has been actively involved since 1997. She holds both her BA and MA in Human Development from the institution and has dedicated her career to education, advocacy, and social justice in early childhood and adult learning contexts.
Her educational background includes:
- BA (ABLE Program Equivalency) in Human Development, Pacific Oaks College, Pasadena, CA (1997)
- MA in Human Development with specialization in Leadership in Education, emphasis on college teaching, Pacific Oaks College, Pasadena, CA (2003)
Theresa's research and teaching interests are deeply rooted in social justice, diversity, anti-bias curriculum, and learner-centered environments. She emphasizes cultural intelligence, authenticity, and advocacy in both child and adult education. Her work promotes play as essential to optimal child development and supports educators as agents of change.
She has served on thesis committees at Pacific Oaks since 2013, initially as a Third Reader under Dr. Betty Jones and advancing to Second Reader in 2016, reflecting her growing academic mentorship role.

With over 40 years of experience across preschool teaching, center directorship, site supervision, college instruction, and academic administration, Theresa has contributed to nonprofit, for-profit, church-related, campus-based, and employer-sponsored childcare settings. She has also taught childbirth classes, reflecting her holistic commitment to families and child development.
