Judy E. Venonsky is a Lecturer at the Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, and a Registered Landscape Architect at OLIN, where she leads the Living Systems Specialist role and directs OLIN EcoLab. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania (2007). Her professional work focuses on integrating ecological systems with built environments, highlighted by projects like Pier 26 in Manhattan and the native species planting design for Apple Park. She co-teaches Workshop II at Weitzman and Temple University’s Master of Landscape Architecture program, emphasizing ecological planting aesthetics and landscape theory.
Her research explores parametric design’s role in modeling natural systems, presented at ASLA conferences such as “Integrating Ecology and Technology for Beneficial Impact.” She is a board member of Plant Agents Collective, a nonprofit connecting consumers to native plant producers. Venonsky’s expertise bridges academic teaching, professional practice, and ecological advocacy, with a focus on sustainable design solutions.
