Judith Renaud is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director at the School of Optometry at Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on social participation, quality of life, and depression in elderly individuals with visual impairments, along with the impact of aging on visual functions and promoting safe driving among older adults. She holds a Doctor of Optometry (OD) and a PhD in Clinical Sciences (Rehabilitation) from the Universities of Montréal and Sherbrooke, respectively.

Her teaching spans master’s programs in vision sciences, particularly in visual impairment intervention. She supervises thesis work, including a 2022 study on clinical tests for photoreceptor efficiency. Dr. Renaud leads a research project funded by the Fondation des maladies de l'oeil (2013–2016) and collaborates with the GRSV (Vision Sciences Research Group) and RQRV (Quebec Network for Research on Aging).
She teaches courses such as Intervention in Low Vision, Handicap Visuel: Multidisciplinary Approach, and supervises clinical stages in visual rehabilitation. Her work emphasizes bridging clinical practice and research to improve care for visually impaired elderly populations.
