Judith Mabary is an Associate Professor of Musicology at the University of Missouri, specializing in Czech music from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Her research focuses on composers Antonín Dvořák, Zdeňek Fibich, Bohuslav Martinů, and Vítězslava Kaprálová, alongside the genre of Czech melodrama. She has published extensively with Cambridge University Press, Duke University Press, Routledge, and others.

Her research spans Czech operatic traditions, melodrama's evolution, and transatlantic musical exchanges. Her 2021 book Contextualizing Melodrama in the Czech Lands in Concert and on Stage explores the genre's history, while her forthcoming chapter on 'Women in Czech Opera' addresses gender representation. Current work examines Jeannette Meyer Thurber's impact on American music through institutional founding.
Her publications highlight Czech music's interplay with French and German traditions, advocacy in music, and cultural identity. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, blending historical analysis with practical performance insights.
