Judith MUELLER

Judith MUELLER is a Professor at EHESP School of Public Health and Deputy Director of the Doctoral Network in Public Health. She holds degrees in Medicine (MD, Germany), Public Health (MPH, USA), and a PhD (France). Her primary affiliation is the Department of Quantitative Methods in Public Health (METIS), with ties to the Pasteur Institute's Emerging Diseases Epidemiology Unit. She has held roles at the Preventive Medicine Agency (Paris) and institutions in Germany. Her research focuses on vaccination strategies, infectious disease surveillance, and meningitis epidemiology.

Her research spans three core areas: vaccination program effectiveness (e.g., HPV and meningococcal vaccines), surveillance strategies for infectious diseases (e.g., real-time monitoring of meningitis epidemics), and environmental drivers of meningitis outbreaks in Africa. Notable projects include the PrevHPV study on school-based HPV interventions and contributions to WHO guidelines for meningitis control.

MUELLER collaborates with global health organizations like WHO, UNICEF, and GAVI. She advises on vaccine procurement, meningitis environmental risk strategies, and measles elimination in France. Her teaching includes MPH modules on epidemiology, vaccination, and global health at EHESP, emphasizing interprofessional collaboration and public health policy.

Current projects include the GERES survey on pandemic control preferences and studies on HPV vaccine acceptance in France and Uganda. She mentors PhD students researching vaccination hesitancy and meningitis epidemiology. Her work bridges academic research, policy, and public health practice, addressing global health challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.
