Judith Halasz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at SUNY New Paltz, specializing in culture, film studies, urban sociology, and social theory. Her career spans 2006 to present, with promotions from Lecturer to Associate Professor and interim chairmanship (2019-2020). She holds a PhD in Sociology with a Film Studies Certificate from CUNY (2007) and a BA in Mathematics from Brown University (1995).
