Judith Cohen

Judith Cohen is a Research Professor affiliated with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Child Resilience Center at Gallaudet University. As co-developer of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), she specializes in adapting evidence-based treatments for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Her work focuses on addressing trauma and sexual abuse through culturally competent interventions.

Dr. Cohen leads National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) initiatives to expand TF-CBT applications across populations, particularly for deaf children. She chairs the NCTSN Child Sexual Abuse Committee, developing resources to address abuse impact and treatment. Her research emphasizes bridging clinical practice with accessibility needs in deaf communities.
