Judith Clark is a Professor of Fashion and Museology at the London College of Fashion (LCF), part of the University of the Arts London. She is Course Leader for the MA Fashion Curation, one of the world's leading programs in fashion exhibition studies. Her career spans over 25 years of curating groundbreaking exhibitions globally, including at the V&A, Palazzo Pitti, and the Barbican, focusing on historical and contemporary fashion narratives. Clark co-founded the Centre for Fashion Curation (CfFC) and has authored influential books such as Exhibiting Fashion: Before and After 1971 and Handbags: The Making of a Museum.
Her research explores the intersection of fashion, museology, and cultural heritage, with a focus on exhibition design and curatorial practice. Recent projects include Genealogies of Ornament (2022) for Homo Faber and Lanvin: Dialogues (2019). She has supervised doctoral students on topics ranging from climate-conscious curation to gender-neutral fashion. Clark’s work bridges academia, museums, and industry, positioning her as a pivotal figure in fashion studies.
Graduates of her MA program hold roles at major institutions like the V&A, British Council, and Seoul’s Simone Handbag Museum. Her teaching emphasizes practical experience alongside historical and theoretical rigor. Clark’s practice-based research studio, J.Clark Space, further expands her experimental curatorial approaches, addressing evolving trends in fashion interpretation and exhibition-making.
