Judith Annemarie Hendriksma is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities. Her research focuses on archaic Greek literature, particularly the Homeric Hymns and cult practices like those of Demeter at Eleusis. She specializes in narratology, emphasizing spatial dimensions in ancient narratives, and advocates interdisciplinary methods combining literature, religion, archaeology, and epigraphy.
Her current research explores the goddess Hecate in archaic literature and cult. Hendriksma holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Utrecht University (with minors in Ancient History and Archaeology) and MAs in Ancient Studies (Utrecht) and Classics and Ancient History (University of Manchester). She has received notable awards, including the Prins Bernhard Fonds scholarship and the A.H.KYD Prize.
She is a member of the research group Novel and Epic, Ancient and Modern (NEAM). Though no recent publications are explicitly listed, her work bridges literary analysis with cultural and religious studies of antiquity.
