Jude Penny is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education. Her research focuses on dialogic teaching, philosophical thinking in primary science, and empathy development in education. She holds an MEd in Professional Studies (2016), a Post Graduate Certificate of Higher Education (2012), and a BEd in Primary Education (1995). Her work emphasizes action research and innovative pedagogical strategies.
Key research interests include student teacher development, inquiry-based learning, and the integration of philosophical inquiry in primary education. She has presented on topics such as ‘Philosophical Thinking in Primary Science’ and ‘Promoting Curiosity’ at various academic conferences since 2016.
Recent publications explore philosophical approaches to education, empathy in PSHE curricula, and questioning techniques in science education. Her work highlights the importance of fostering critical thinking and dialogic engagement in learning environments.
