Jude Bergkamp is a licensed psychologist and clinical faculty member at Antioch University Seattle’s Clinical Psychology Department and the University of Washington’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He directs Antioch’s Decoloniality and Social Privilege Awareness Initiative (DSPAI) and leads a forensic research group. His work bridges forensic psychology, cultural competency, and decolonial theory in clinical and academic settings.
- Education: Undergraduate studies at The Evergreen State College in violence, addiction, and Buddhist studies; MA in Couple & Family Therapy from Antioch Seattle; PsyD in Clinical Psychology (2010).
- Research: Focuses on cultural competency training, social privilege, telehealth, qualitative methodology, and big data trends in psychology.
His recent publications analyze social privilege in therapy, decolonial grounded theory, and mindfulness applications. Awards include the 2023 NCSPP Distinguished Service Award and 2019 Washington State Psychological Association’s Distinguished Psychologist of the Year. He advocates for integrating social justice into doctoral psychology curricula and is a key figure in APA’s Board of Educational Affairs Task Force.
