Judd Morrissey

Judd Morrissey is an Associate Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, affiliated with the Art and Technology Studies department. He earned a BA in Languages and Literature from Bard College (1997) and an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University (2000). His work bridges digital art, computational poetics, and web-based creative practices, with performances at venues including Sonoscopia (Porto), Eyebeam (NYC), and Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin).

His research explores the intersection of language, technology, and interdisciplinary art forms, focusing on innovative applications of AI-generated texts, digital embroidery, and hypertext. He emphasizes self-directed creative inquiry and collaborative experimentation in his courses.
