Dr. Juan Zheng is an Assistant Professor in the Teaching, Learning, and Technology program at Lehigh University. She combines expertise in educational technology and learning sciences to advance STEM education through artificial intelligence (AI) and computer simulations.
Research Focus
Her work centers on integrating AI into simulated learning environments to enhance engineering design education and improve students’ AI literacy. She employs multimodal methods—think-aloud protocols, self-reports, computer trace data, facial expressions, and physiological sensors—to analyze cognitive, metacognitive, and emotional processes during learning. Current projects include developing an intelligent tutoring system for STEM education.
