Juan Palomares is an Affiliate Professor of Accounting at ESCP Europe's Financial Reporting & Audit department in Madrid. He holds a PhD in Business and Administration (Accounting) from Universidad Nacional a Distancia (UNED) and an MBA from IE Business School. His teaching spans Financial Accounting, IFRS, Financial Statement Analysis, and Cost Accounting at institutions like UC3M, EAE, and ESCP.
His research focuses on international accounting standards and financial analysis, reflected in his authored books, cases, and scientific articles. Beyond academia, he serves as Head of Administration and Management Support for CIEMAT’s Energy Department, part of Spain’s science and innovation ministry. Previously, he worked as a controller in industrial multinationals and led Statutory Reporting in the telecommunication sector.
Combining academic expertise with public-sector and corporate roles, Palomares bridges theoretical frameworks with practical financial management challenges in diverse industries.
