Dr Juan Paez-Farrell is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Sheffield's School of Economics, joining in 2013. He holds a PhD from the University of Cardiff (2002) and an MA in Economics from the University of Liverpool (1994). Prior to Sheffield, he held academic positions at Cardiff, Loughborough, and institutions in Hong Kong and Singapore. His research focuses on macroeconomics and monetary policy, particularly central bank behavior, business cycles, and the sacrifice ratio in OECD economies. He actively supervises PhD students in macroeconomics and teaches courses like ECN202 (Macroeconomic Principles), ECN324 (Monetary Economics), and ECN6660 (Monetary Economics).
