Dr. Juan Manuel Tebes is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Buenos Aires, and an Assistant Researcher at CONICET (National Research Council). He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Antiguo Oriente and Co-Editor of the Ancient Near East Monograph Series (Society of Biblical Literature & CEHAO). His interdisciplinary research focuses on the history and archaeology of ritual practices in arid zones of the southern Levant and Arabian Peninsula during the Late Bronze and Iron Ages.

His current project, "The Desert Origins of God: Experience and Materiality of Desert Cult," investigates the evolution of ritual activities in arid regions of the ancient Near East. He has held visiting research fellowships at leading institutions globally, including the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research and the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World.
