Aaron Greener is a post-doctoral fellow at the W.F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research and the Zinman Institute of Archaeology at the University of Haifa, holding a Ph.D. in archaeology from Bar-Ilan University.
His research specializes in biblical archaeology and Iron Age material culture, with significant contributions to the study of clay female figurines in Judahite settlements and Edom's copper mining operations at Timna during the 10th century BCE. He directs "Dig the Past," an educational initiative recreating Israeli archaeological excavations for North American camps to foster public engagement with archaeological heritage.
Greener currently prepares figurine fragments from the Temple Mount Sifting Project (directed by Dr. Gabriel Barkay and Zachi Dvira) for scholarly publication, advancing understanding of ritual practices in ancient Judah. His work bridges academic research and experiential education through hands-on excavation recreations.
