معرفی
Juan Manuel González-Rosa is an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Boston College. His research focuses on heart regeneration using zebrafish as a model organism, particularly investigating polyploidization's role in cardiomyocyte regeneration barriers. He received his PhD from the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2013, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. His work is supported by grants such as the American Heart Association Career Development Award and EMBO Fellowship.
Research interests include cardiac regeneration mechanisms, zebrafish genetics, fibrosis, and inflammation's impact on tissue repair. Recent studies explore collagen dynamics in regenerating hearts and novel cryoinjury models for liver regeneration. Over 30 publications span topics like cardiac regeneration pathways, genetic tools, and translational applications in medicine.
Key honors include the American Heart Association Career Development Award (2019) and EMBO Long-Term Fellowship (2013-2016). His lab develops high-throughput models for organ preservation and leverages zebrafish for precision medicine approaches in cardiac disease.
