Ju-Ying Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Valdosta State University. Her research focuses on energy policy and decision-making processes in local governments transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from SUNY Albany (2023), an MPA from Florida State University, and a dual bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Accounting from National Taipei University.
Dr. Yang’s notable work includes her award-winning master’s thesis (2012, SECoPA) on performance management in U.S. municipal governments. Her current research project examines the challenges and strategies of local governments in renewable energy transitions. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, including Public Policy Analysis, Public Personnel Administration, and Global Climate Governance.
Her academic contributions emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to governance, environmental policy, and intergovernmental relations. She has received recognition for innovative teaching methods across in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
