Joëlle Forget-Leray is a Professor and permanent research staff member at Le Havre Normandy University, France, based at 25 rue Philippe Lebon - BP 1123, 76063 Le Havre Cedex.
Her research develops bioassessment tools using copepod crustaceans to characterize pollutant impacts in estuarine ecosystems, investigating effects on endocrine and reproductive functions while accounting for biotic (sex, microbiome) and abiotic (pH, salinity, oxygen) factors. Recent interdisciplinary work integrates ecotoxicology, microbial ecology, and hydrology to study biota-mediated dissemination of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in contaminated environments.
Holding Accreditation to Supervise Research (HDR), she mentors doctoral candidates through methodologies including bioassays, targeted biomarker analysis, and proteomics to identify ecosystem health indicators.
