Jozef Meričko

Jozef Meričko serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Dance Production within the Faculty of Music and Dance at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava, Slovakia. His office is located in Building Zochova 1, Room 221.

Professor Meričko graduated from the Faculty of Dance Pedagogy at the Faculty of Performing Arts of the Slovak Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in 1993. His educational foundation has supported an extensive international career spanning multiple continents and performance venues.

With expertise in dance production and ballet techniques, Professor Meričko's professional interests focus on performance arts education, choreographic development, and cross-cultural dance collaboration. His teaching approach integrates practical performance experience with academic instruction, drawing from his extensive international background.

Throughout his career, Professor Meričko has performed with dance ensembles across Japan, China, Lithuania, Spain, Norway, Hungary, USA, Slovenia, Germany, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, and Taiwan. He has also collaborated with major television networks including STV, ČTV, ORF, ZDF, and ARD.

Professor Meričko maintains active involvement in dance education standards through his service on examination committees for private dance schools in Austria, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining high professional standards in dance instruction.
