Joyce Rosenberg is a Clinical Professor of Law and Robert A. Schroeder Teaching Fellow at the University of Kansas School of Law since 2005. She holds a J.D. from KU Law (1996) and B.A. from Boston University (1992). Previously practiced labor/employment law in Kansas City (1996–2003), specializing in employment litigation and preventive HR law. Known for expertise in legal writing pedagogy, she teaches Employment Law, Lawyering Skills, Advanced Legal Writing, and Deposition Skills. Awards include the Immel Teaching Excellence Award (2017) and Schroeder Teaching Fellowship (2019). Promoted to Clinical Professor in 2020.
Research focuses on improving legal communication, professional writing standards, and experiential learning techniques. Her publications emphasize modern challenges in legal writing, including digital etiquette, jargon reduction, and technology integration. Active in legal education conferences, presenting on topics like constructive feedback methods and experiential learning design. Served as Kansas Law Review Editor-in-Chief during law school.
