Joyce Mamode is a post-doctoral researcher at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management, affiliated with the Centre for Research into Equality and Diversity (CRED). She collaborates with Professor Tessa Wright on an ESRC-funded project examining social procurement's role in promoting equality in the UK construction workforce. Previously, she served as Head of Assisted Transport at Transport for London (TfL), developing strategies for older and disabled Londoners' transportation access. Earlier roles included TfL Board membership and trade union research with the T&G Union (now Unite).
Her education includes a part-time PhD from Warwick Business School (focused on trade union equality representatives' role in modernization), an MSc in Occupational Psychology (Birkbeck), and a BSc in Psychology (Newcastle University).

Her doctoral research explored union modernization via equality representatives, leading to ongoing publications. She actively contributes to debates on equality policy implementation and employee advocacy mechanisms.
