Dr. Joy Stapleton is a Professor and Elementary Education Program Director in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy at Winthrop University’s College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences. She specializes in improving teacher preparation programs through innovative curricula, with a focus on co-teaching, video coaching, and equity-centered strategies. Previously, she taught at East Carolina University for 17 years before joining Winthrop in 2017. Her work emphasizes collaborative teaching models, reflective practices, and leveraging technology to enhance educator readiness.
