Jovan Cekic is a full professor at the Faculty of Media and Communications within Singidunum University. His academic work spans philosophy, art theory, and media theory, with a focus on digital arts and new media. He has held visiting professorships at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Belgrade and Cetinje) and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (Belgrade).
- Graduated in philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade
- Doctorate in media and communications (2009)
Research interests include screen culture, creative strategies, image theory, and posthumanism. His publications analyze the intersection of digital arts, media philosophy, and global visual trends. Notable awards: Nadežda Petrović Memorial Award (1996), October Salon Award (2000). He has served as editor for theory in Moment magazine, editor-in-chief of New Moment (1993-1997), and artistic director for biennials and festivals.
