Dr. Josje Weusten is a Senior Lecturer at Maastricht University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, teaching creative writing, literature, and cultural theory. She holds a PhD in literary studies and is an alumna of the Faber Academy Writing Programme in London. Her academic work focuses on motherhood narratives, gender studies, and discourse analysis, while her creative work blends speculative fiction with contemporary autofiction. She won the 2022 FASoS Education Prize for innovative teaching projects involving podcasts and VR. Her debut novel Fake Fish (2024) explores the dystopian consequences of deepfakes and was featured in Scotland's Book Week Debut Showcase. She also founded Telling Stories Magazine and leads creative writing workshops and summer schools.
