Josianne Robert is a Professor of Practical Training at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Education, within the Department of Psychopedagogy and Andragogy. She directs L'extension, an educational and health support center in Montreal's Parc-Extension neighborhood, and serves as director of the Faculty of Education's Initial Teacher Training Center. Her work focuses on educational perseverance, academic success for students with disabilities, and adaptive education strategies.
Education: B.Sc. in Educational and Social Adaptation (2001, Université de Sherbrooke), M.A. in Education (2004, Université de Montréal), Ph.D. in Psychopedagogy (2017, Université de Sherbrooke).
Research emphasizes supporting marginalized students and those with disabilities through innovative pedagogical approaches. Major projects include:
- 2024–2027: Implementation of an 'Espace de Discussion sur le Travail' (EDT) to improve schoolwork conditions (FRQSC-funded).
- 2019–2023: Exploring self-determination support for university students with disabilities (CRSH-funded).
Awards include the 2005 Prix G.M. Dunlop and Prix Marc Gagnon for contributions to psychopedagogical research. Supervised 3 recent theses/master's projects on educational technology integration, ADHD student support, and immigrant parental involvement. Active in community partnerships, such as free health services for students through collaborations with dental/optometry programs.
