Joshua Radoff is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Environmental Studies Department at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he leads the Renewable and Sustainable Energy (RSE) Specialization within the Masters of the Environment (MENV) program. He teaches courses on sustainability, decarbonization, and energy systems. His affiliations include serving on the campus climate action planning steering committee and roles with ICLEI as a Zero Carbon Cities advisor and as an independent consultant for sustainable development projects.
Education: Holds Master’s degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm) and Columbia University (New York).
Research Interests: Focuses on sustainable built environments, electrification, and grid-interconnected energy systems. Specializes in decarbonization strategies for cities and infrastructure, with expertise in LEED, WELL, and Net Zero standards.
Awards: Recognized as a LEED Fellow by the U.S. Green Building Council. Previously co-founded the advocacy group GreenHomeNYC and led WSP’s Built Ecology practice.
Professional Activities: Advises MENV students exclusively. Previously co-chaired ULI Colorado’s Healthy Places Committee and contributed to high-profile sustainability projects globally.
