Associate Professor Joshua Ooi is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow and Head of the Regulatory T cell Therapies Group at Monash University's School of Clinical Sciences. His research focuses on regulatory T cell therapies for autoimmune diseases, particularly vasculitis and lupus nephritis.
Key projects include developing targeted regulatory T cells for autoimmune conditions and investigating gastrointestinal-restricted therapies for fibrosis. He leads major grants from organizations like the National Foundation for Medical Research and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Research interests span immunology, autoimmunity, and kidney diseases. Notable contributions include studies on T cell engineering, ANCA-associated vasculitis, and the role of interferons in colitis.
