Joshua Graham

Joshua Graham is an Assistant Professor of Percussion and Percussion Program Coordinator at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is also Executive Director and percussionist of the trio F-PLUS, and Principal Percussionist of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra. His work focuses on commissioning and premiering new percussion works, blending classical performance with interdisciplinary projects like 'Music and Literature,' which pairs marimba compositions with literary themes. He holds degrees from Central Michigan University (BMUS), University of Michigan (MMUS), and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (DMA).

Education highlights include teaching roles at the University of Northern Iowa, Triton College, and Roosevelt University, alongside masterclasses at institutions such as University of Iowa and University of Maryland. He has performed globally with ensembles like Ensemble Dal Niente, the Sinta Quartet, and at venues including Carnegie Hall and the Art Institute of Chicago. His projects have been funded by grants from the Fromm Foundation, Koussevitzky Foundation, and others. He endorses Vic Firth, Marimba One, Zildjian, and Black Swam Percussion.

Grants and collaborations highlight his commitment to new music, with performances broadcast on WFMT-Chicago and WPRB-Princeton. His research and performance work emphasizes contemporary chamber music and the intersection of literature and musical composition.
