Dr. Joshua Farragher is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy and Clinical Coordinator of the Master of Physiotherapy program at RMIT University. His expertise spans psychological effects of rehabilitation exercises, biomechanics, and innovative rehabilitation programs for low back pain. He led a multi-centred randomised controlled trial evaluating novel rehabilitation approaches and expanded RMIT's accredited physiotherapy program. He is also involved in mental health training initiatives for healthcare students. Dr. Farragher integrates 15 years of clinical musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience with technology-driven teaching methods. He holds roles in national musculoskeletal committees and is open to supervising Masters and PhD students.
His research focuses on biomechanical analysis of movement patterns, low back pain rehabilitation, and technology applications in clinical settings. Recent work includes machine learning models to predict lifting movement changes in patients with chronic pain and studies on lumbar muscle function. He collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to advance evidence-based physiotherapy practices, emphasizing innovation in both clinical care and education.
