Joshua Devine, Ph.D., Pharm.D., FAPhA, serves as an Assistant Professor of Public Health in the College of Health Sciences at Des Moines University. With over two decades of federal health leadership experience, he previously held pivotal roles including Regional Health Administrator for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Region 5, Technical Director at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and economic evaluation leadership for the Department of Defense's $7 billion TRICARE pharmacy program.
His academic credentials include:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from Drake University (2000)
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social, Administrative, and Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota (2006)
Dr. Devine's research spans public health systems, pharmaceutical economics, and health policy, with critical focus on drug shortages (particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic), medication adherence, cardiovascular outcomes, cancer care disparities, and combating health misinformation.
