Joshua D. Nosanchuk

Joshua D. Nosanchuk is Professor in both the Department of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also serves as Senior Associate Dean Emeritus. An internationally recognized leader in medical education, he spearheaded comprehensive MD curriculum reform (2020-2023) introducing longitudinal courses in service learning, scholarship, and health systems sciences.

His laboratory investigates fungal pathogenesis mechanisms (Histoplasma capsulatum, Candida species, Cryptococcus neoformans), focusing on melanin production, extracellular vesicles' virulence role, and antibody-mediated disease modulation. Secondary research develops innovative therapeutics including nanoparticle-based antimicrobials and vaccines. He serves on the Executive Board of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
