Dr. Joshua Curry is a Teaching Professor at the University of Southampton's School of Electronics and Computer Science, part of the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment. He holds over 10 years of research experience in cyber security, environmental sensing, and IoT technologies. His current research focuses on hardware security, software security, and communications for IoT systems, with an emphasis on energy harvesting solutions for sustainable sensor networks.
Dr. Curry is actively involved in research-led teaching, designing courses that bridge theory and practice in electronics and computer science. He supervises undergraduate and postgraduate projects, including COMP3217 (Security of Cyber Physical Systems) and ELEC6231 (VLSI Design Project). He is a member of the Smart Electronic Materials and Systems Centre and the Centre for Internet of Things and Pervasive Systems.
His recent publications emphasize energy harvesting innovations, including pressure-based and thermoelectric solutions for self-powered IoT devices. These works address critical challenges in environmental monitoring and wearable technology. His teaching portfolio reflects a commitment to advancing cyber-physical systems education and IoT security practices.
