Joshua C. Doloff is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science at Johns Hopkins University's School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment in Oncology. He leads the Doloff Lab, focusing on Immunoengineering and Regenerative Medicine, exploring interactions between therapeutics and host immune systems. His work addresses challenges in biomaterials, drug delivery, and autoimmune/cancer therapies.
Education: PhD in Molecular, Cellular Biology & Biochemistry (Boston University), Postdoc in Robert Langer/Daniel Anderson Labs (MIT/Koch Institute). Awards include the Distinguished Rising Star Alumni Award and 1st Place at the 2017 SFB Immunoengineering Symposium.
Research emphasizes controlled drug delivery systems, synthetic biology, and understanding foreign body responses to implants. His lab's innovations include technologies commercialized via Sigilon Therapeutics. Notable projects include humanized mouse models for fibrosis testing and reducing implant-related immune reactions.
Advises over 20 students (PhD, Master's, undergrad) and collaborates with industry/academic partners. Lab locations include the Smith Building (Baltimore, MD).
